One question, worked through

A real-style question from this topic, with its full explanation. Take your time here; on the day you will have 15 seconds.

When must you signal a manoeuvre or a change of direction?

  1. Only for manoeuvres, not for turns
  2. In good time, before carrying it out
  3. At the moment you start to move
  4. Only if another vehicle is close enough to be affected

The answer

B — In good time, before carrying it out

Why

Art. 13: before carrying out a manoeuvre or a movement that requires a sideways displacement or causes a change of direction, the driver must make the intention known in good time with the indicators.

Why not

  • A Art. 13 covers manoeuvres and any movement that changes direction or requires a sideways shift, turns included.
  • C Art. 13 says in good time, before the movement, so that others can use the information.
  • D The duty does not depend on who you can see; a vehicle you have not seen is the one that needs the signal.

How this topic works in RoadReady

Every lesson in this topic is a short read built around the pictures the real questions use, and every practice question ends the same way as the one above: why the right answer is right, and why each other option is wrong. A mock exam draws on all of it, scored exactly like the real thing — 50 questions, 15 seconds each, five points for a heavy fault — and your readiness figure tells you honestly when this topic is done.
